Colombo, Sri Lanka
President Mahinda Rajapaksa appointed a panel of Legal/Constitutional Experts to aid the sub committee on Constitutional Reforms, a committee comprising all political parties to formulate proposals for constitutional changes.

At the third All Party Conference held on the 2nd of this month at the Presidential Secretariat, the President met Sri Lanka's major political parties and urged them to come up with suggestions to make necessary constitutional changes to end the two decades conflict, which affects the minority ethnic groups in the country.

Apart from the Tamil National Alliance (TNA), all other political parties with a parliamentary representation supported the suggestion made by President Mahinda Rajapaksa.
